This was a really fun project that we completed in Moorestown, NJ for some incredible clients. We designed and built a large deck with a walkway to the gate and driveway on one side, as well as a large patio area with hot tub on the other side.
This project started out with an old deck that was poorly designed and falling apart. Not only was it pretty ugly, it was starting to become unsafe. The builder installed large fence panels on one side that cut the deck off from a large portion of the yard.
As always we start out with a 3D design of the project to give the client a picture of what their new deck and patio will look like. These designs cost $250 but are deductible from the cost of the project should you decide to move forward. Here we decided to enlarge the size of the deck to accommodate a large 8 person table, as well as their grill and a bar height table with two chairs. The deck opens right up into the hot tub so you can walk out the back door and go directly into the hot tub. We also built steps around the hot tub from the outside so you can also walk into it from the patio. This also helps the hot tub look like it is a part of the deck instead of just floating next to it. We designed the patio to be large enough to accommodate a large sectional as well as two lounge chairs.
We started out here with the deck. Sometimes we start with the patio, but in this case it was easier to build that after finishing the deck. You can also see here we poured the pad for the hot tub as soon as we started so that it would be ready whenever the hot tub installers could make it out.
Here you can see how huge of a difference a little stain on the framing makes. We stain all the deck nailers black so that once we put on the trim, the nailers completely disappear. Its a small detail, but makes a huge difference in the finished appearance of the deck!
We decided to go with Trex Havana Gold with Trex Spiced Rum border. We chose this color combo because the home is an old farmhouse style and the Havana Gold has a really nice warmth to it that doesn't look too modern. As always we use Camo hidden fasteners to give the deck a smooth, clean look and feel!
We used Techo-Bloc Eva pavers in Champlain Gray along with their Villagio line in Onyx Black for the border. We use this color combo a lot, and you can see why!
One of the final things we built here was this partition wall between the patio and the neighbors backyard. The sectional couch will back up to this wall to give a sense of separation and privacy from the neighbors. We used the same Trex decking on this wall to match the deck.
I love the look of the new deck and walkway from the gate!
This was a really fun deck and patio project in Moorestown, NJ. I love the open feel of the deck and how it leads right into the hot tub, definitely a great backyard for a party!
As great as it turned out, none of it would be possible without our great crew! Here we are on a Friday afternoon almost finished up with the project!
The most important thing for us is to make sure our clients are completely satisfied with their new deck and patio project!
